About Jorge
Meet Jorge
The local IT guy — with a national company behind him
I'm Jorge Velasquez, and I own the CMIT Solutions of Austin Central territory — nine ZIP codes across Central Austin. Twenty years in technology, most of them inside multinational companies, and the last nine right here, working in nothing but IT.
Go to any networking event in this town and you'll meet an IT guy. He's usually one person: great until you need to grow. Then there are the firms that can scale, and they price themselves out of reach for a company your size. I'm the middle. You get a local owner who knows your office and your people, and behind me a company of more than 150 offices and 800 technicians.
The way I say it to clients: instead of talking to a salesperson, you talk to the owner. And instead of off-the-shelf solutions, you get enterprise technology — at the off-the-shelf price.

Why people call
The three things businesses hire me for
After nine years in this market, almost every conversation starts as one of these three.
They want to start small and grow with someone
On paper this business starts at about twenty computers. In practice, some of my favourite clients came in at ten or twelve and grew — one of them is past forty seats now. If you are on the way up, come in early: it is far cheaper to build it right than to untangle it later.
They are stuck on technology that is holding them back
This is the number one reason people go looking on the internet. Legacy email, systems that will not talk to each other, software nobody supports anymore. One of my largest accounts started exactly there — a manufacturer whose email platform could not talk to its CRM. We moved them off Lotus Notes onto Exchange, and I have run their IT ever since.
Somebody is now asking them hard questions about security
A client sends a questionnaire, an auditor shows up, a regulator changes the rules. CPA firms answering to IRS guidelines, healthcare under HIPAA, legal, financial services, suppliers to the State of Texas — regulated ground is where I do my best work.
How I work
I read your network, then I read your business.
I sit on both sides of the table. I understand the technology, and as a business owner I understand what you are actually worried about: payroll, growth, the busy season, the thing that cannot go down.

Step — 01
The technical assessment
A technician comes to your office and goes through the network, the machines and everything attached to them, until we know exactly what your IT environment is today.
Step — 02
The business session
Then we sit down owner to owner: where the company is heading, when your busy and slow seasons hit, whether you are growing or tightening up.
Step — 03
Where the two meet
Most IT companies only do the first half. Looking at the network tells me what you have; it does not tell me what you need. That answer comes from putting both conversations together.
Proudly Serving Central Austin
As your local CMIT Solutions of Austin Central team, we focus on the businesses in our own backyard. On-site help is fast because we’re right here — the highlighted areas below show the two territories we cover across Central Austin.
What backs me up
Local accountability, national scale
Owning the territory means you get one person to hold responsible. Being part of CMIT means that person is not working alone.
You deal with the owner
I answer the phone, I run the assessment, and I am accountable for what gets recommended. There is nobody to hand you off to.
Enterprise pricing
CMIT holds contracts covering roughly 160,000 computers. When the network buys licences for tools like SentinelOne, that price comes through to you.
HIPAA compliant
I am HIPAA compliant and so is every vendor I use, which is what lets me sign the agreements a medical practice needs.
800+ technicians
When a project needs more depth than one person has, I pull in specialists from the network instead of telling you it cannot be done.
Community
It's not Jorge alone
Conferences, owner roundtables, vendor expos and Austin networking groups — the people I learn from, work with, and bring to every client.

The first conversation costs nothing
Tell me what is slowing the business down. If it looks like a fit, the next steps are the technical assessment and the business session — and the recommendation comes from putting the two together. No pitch on the call.
